The Company established a small wine-making operation in 1847 in the Piedmont region of Italy and quickly established a reputation for its sparkling wines. The Company received its first international order for a "sparkling wine of Asti" in 1871. The order was from Shanghai. It introduced the MARTINI brand and helped launch the international appeal of Asti MARTINI.

In 1993, MARTINI Asti received the prestigious D.O.C.G. seal of quality. In order for a sparkling wine to be called Asti, the wine must be made from 100% Moscato grapes grown in the Asti region.

The wines are made from grapes that express the characteristics of a place, the way of life of its inhabitants, and the traditions shaped along the years. Within that timeless context, is a continuously evolving world of quality improvement and international recognition.
